Build A Winning Home Page
There are some key parts to a home page that you need to make sure you have. Whether you have someone build a site for you or if you are going do it yourself, homepages need the right touch to pull visitors in for more than just a few seconds before they leave your site.
When you go to a website, you prefer an organized look don’t you? Of course you do. Is your site organized for new visitors? A site with a clean short menu and noticeable buttons is necessary when building a home page that keeps visitors from leaving immediately.
When someone goes to your site, it’s always best to have what they’re looking for right in the middle of the page. You might say “But not everyone that comes to my site is searching for the same thing.” I say they are. They’re all searching for you to provide a service for them.
Make it blatantly obvious what type of business you are. If you specify your services too much on your home page, visitors might miss what they were looking for and think that you’re not a good fit for what they need. On the other side, they could find what they were looking for right away and not see the other wonderful products and services that your company offers.
At the bottom of your home page, you might want to add a brief “About Us” section with a read more button. Remember, if they’re still on your home page, they haven’t felt convinced enough that you have something worth their time. Give them a sample of your experience.
Another way to get the visitor to feel more comfortable is by integrating social media into your home page. This gives a better perception into the people behind the business. When a visitor sees the people behind the business there is a small boundary that lets go and you are now seen as a group of people with common interests.
Finally, a home page needs to have contact information at the bottom of the page. If they don’t want to go to the “Contact Us” page of your site, bring the contact information to them.
