Review: Facebook Graph Search
Facebook Graph Search is a new search feature that Facebook announced in January they were going to release. The beta is out to a limited amount of people and I have the opportunity to try it out for myself. I have to say there are some main points to cover.
Aesthetics
The design and visual aspects are nice update from the previous version.

Here is the new version:
As you can see some of the main differences to Facebook Graph Search are the fresh new logo, updated search bar, the menu items have moved to the right with the other settings. If you also notice the link for your profile is just your first name. They have added a link for “Home” which will take you the the primary news feed page where you can see everyone’s updates in your timeline.
Search Features
When you click in the search box you now get this cool menu. Facebook now hints for you to search certain criteria. As you can see by the menu. When you start typing it will automatically update for you and start providing you with more options to choose from. However I did find that if you are not careful the Graph Search will automatically choose the top listed suggestion for you search instead of what you are typing. Hopefully they will fix this issue with the official release.
Here are some things it suggested to me:
My Friends search suggested this menu to select from:
Searching for Restaurants Nearby provided this menu:
This is the menu provided when searching for People I may know:
This search will let you customize anything you want to search for! This was my favorite search.
In conclusion its a great addition and update to Facebook. Once they work out all of the bugs during beta testing it will be something most people will adapt to quickly and others get annoyed by. Either way I think it may turn into something you will get used to and end up not living without.
We are indifferent about it and doing more research on SEO impact of it. Stay up to date by joining our newsletter!
