 Cisco Switch or Router IP configuration

You have to give the switch an IP and your laptop has to be in the same subnet. So the best thing to do is to set up your TCP/IP where the switch or router are in the same subnet.

Here are the settings for you computer:

Go to your Network Connection:

Right click on your Local Area Connection and select “Properties”.

Now you will see the following:

 Here you will select the “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” settings and click on “Properties”. This will then show the screen to the right where you can manually set the IP address. No make sure you are not connected to an internet so that everything works smoothly. Then select the “Use the following IP address” and enter your IP (192.168.1.11) then press tab and it should fill out your “Subnet mask”. However if it does not the subnet mask is “255.255.255.0″ for this IP.  Leave the DNS Settings blank then click “OK”.

Now that your computer is configured with a static IP address you can move on to configuring the Switch or Router.

Configuring your Cisco Switch or Router

Here you will need to give your  Cisco devices a static IP if you haven’t already.

Below are the commands for your Cisco 3560 Switch:

switch(config)#int vlan 1
switch(config-if)# ip address 192.168.1.10 255.255.255.0
switch# ping 192.168.1.11

Type escape sequence to abort.
Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 192.168.1.11, timeout is 2 seconds:

Verify there is enough space for your new IOS.

You would need to check the device and verify you have a enough space for the file with this command: show flash:

This is showing that there is 10268672 bytes free. The IOS file is the c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-24.T4.bin, which is 50889300 bytes. There is not enough free space.

So most of the time you would need to delete this file to install the new one. Be sure however you do not loose power or reboot the device when doing this. It is a little more difficult to install the new one without this but can be done.

To delete the file you would complet a command below: (Replace the file name with the corresponding file name)

switch#delete /force /recurssive flash:/c2800nm-spservicesk9-mz.124-24.T4.bin
 switch#dir flash:
 Directory of flash:/

Once this is done and you have enough free space then you can install the new IOS.

When you are completeing this task and receive something along the lines of : !!0!!0!!0!!0!! and it fails the transfer then you may want to check the directory again and verify you have enough space and the file was actually deleted.

Things you will need:

1. Magento installed on your domain
2. Create and ready CSV or XML to import
3. Access to the admin panel
4. A little confidence

Step 1: Go to your admin panel and select the System in the menu. Then navigate to the Import/Export > Dataflow-Profiles. Here you will find a few pre-made dataflows that come with the Magento installation.

Step 2: You are now looking at the pre-made dataflow that are installed with the Magento Install. You can import/export Customers, Products, and even export Product Stocks. For this tutorial we are selecting the “Import All Products” from this menu.

Step 3: You will need to upload your .csv or .xml file that you want to import (This works the same with Importing Customers.).

Step 4: Now that you have the File uploaded you now will need to select the tab “Run Profile” You will see a drop down and a button on this page. Now you will need to select your file that you previously uploaded. You will notice there are a series of numbers in front of the names of the files. These are a series of numbers that relate the time stamp the file was uploaded through the admin panel. This will prevent the system from causing an error with previous uploaded files and just creates a new one.

Step 5 Click the Run Profile in Popup and let the software go to work.
